SNOW REPORT

2 inches of fresh snow fell early this morning! Keep it up! 11/25/24

Snowing off and on over the last couple of days! Cold weather moving in the next few days so hopefully we can get the lakes nice and froze up!  12/10/24

Still waiting for Mother Nature and Old Man Winter to stop feuding and give us the beautiful white gold. But you can still ATV/UTV right now, all the trails in Bayfield County are still open! 1/8/25

We were lucky enough to get about 5 inches of snow yesterday, Sunday Jan 12th. But as of right now we still do not have enough to start panning the trail system. We need another nice snowfall! 1/13/25

MOUNTAIN/FAT BIKE TRAIL REPORT

  • CAMBA – Ashwabay Cluster

**Hello Trail Enthusiasts!** We hope you’re having a great day! We wanted to take a moment to let you know that all CAMBA dirt and snow trails are currently closed until further notice. With the warm temperatures and rain ahead, we truly appreciate your help in keeping the trails in good shape! **Snow Trails:** As the temperatures rise and rain falls, the snow surface will get soft. If we ride or walk on the trails right now, we might leave some deep ruts and footprints. Once the snow freezes again, these can be really tough to fix, affecting our rides until we get fresh snowfall to cover up those marks. **Dirt Trails:** The dirt trails will also soften with the warmth and rain, becoming quite muddy. Similar damage can occur here, too, and again, once it freezes, it’ll be there until spring. Plus, ruts on the hills can redirect water down the trail, leading to erosion when spring comes. We all love these trails, and by avoiding them for now, we can make sure everyone has a fantastic experience when conditions improve. Thank you so much for your understanding and cooperation! We can’t wait to see you back on the trails soon! Happy trails!

We have a new 1k loop pushed out in front of Base Camp at Mount Telemark Village, accessible right from the doors. It drops down into the bowl at the base of the hill and wraps around the tree island, along the over flow parking, and back to Base Camp. An Alternative route to access the main Birkie Trails is being marked and will be groomed tonight to serve as a way to get around the Ski de She events. Just follow the signs starting at the south west corner of the building, starting at the Tony Wise Tower Trail sign.

Drummond Open Suspended Poor We have not groomed the Drummond Trails at this time.  The snow depth is about 5 1/2”, which will not compact to anything decent.  The unevenness of the ground on the trails requires a couple of snowfalls in the 6” range to work up into something we can set tracks into. Sorry, but we need real snow to make the Drummond Trails presentable. We have tried grooming with this minimal amount of snow in the past and just beat up our equipment without improving conditions. 1/14/25

General Report

North End Ski Club:  Warm temps and rain. Grooming suspended.

Birkie Trails: https://www.birkie.com/trail-maps-conditions/

Drummond: We really would like to report great grooming and skiing at the Drummond Ski Trails, but alas…. We have had sporadic snow, all of a fluffy nature and not enough to create a base. We’ll let you know when we get going. 12/20/24
