The Cable Area has a close bond to the Chequamegon National Forest, utilizing the great woods as its lifeblood. That’s why you will find a healthy respect for the forest and wildlife within it. As gateways to the forest, the Cable Area communities know that their futures depend on a well-balanced, sustainable approach to our great forest resource.

The communities of Cable, Drummond, Grand View and Namakagon are stops for services and supplies, offering groceries, gas, post offices, churches and general conveniences to residents and visitors alike. The communities are also home to many events, from pancake feeds to world class sporting events.

The sister lakes of Owen and Namakagon are hubs of the activity in the Cable Area, and are home to many local residents. They are also the most common location for area resorts, offering fine dining, family-friendly taverns and accommodations for all tastes. These lakes also boast outstanding fishing, public swimming beaches, picnic beaches, picnic areas and relaxing pleasure boating.
