Family Travel TipsTIPS FOR TRAVELING FAMILIES Stop & Enjoy the Trip - The journey along the way is part of the fun. Stop and check out road side markers and historical landmarks or points of interest. It will give you a chance to stretch your legs and get fresh air, take a break from driving and provide an educational experience for your family. Activity Planning - Make a note and ask each member of your family what they would like to do on vacation. Make sure you include each activity request to plan a vacation everyone will sure to enjoy. Toys - Bring along a variety of interesting objects and toys. Soft toys that can be strapped to a car seat are best for infants and toddlers. Toys that will not get lost or broken if dropped. Art - the older children will enjoy drawing, coloring or crafty things to do. Paper, crayons, washable markers, mess-free art products in a small box, tote, or lunch box style case for easy traveling and cleanup. Scrapbooking - organizing post cards, brochures, items from your trip that can be flattened and put into a scrapbook or photo album for a vacation memory book Photos - Buy the children a disposable camera to take pictures during your vacation or visit. They are reasonable priced and can be purchased at different locations. Your children will feel grown up, you will bring out an artistic ability in them, and you may get some really great pictures that capture memories Bring Along Technology - hand-held games, CD or DVD players, Ipods, DS games, laptop with games, are all perfect for the older children to pass the time, but as soon as you get to your location put them away, because there will be so much more outdoor activities and healthy vacation recreation to experience. Oh don't forget headphones are a must. Social Games While Driving - play with the younger children, I-spy with my little eye something blue; Singing games; Talk with your children about what would you like to do on our trip the most?
