The Forest Lodge Library, a joint public library of the Cable and Namakagon communities, is housed in a rustic log cabin constructed in 1925 of timber lumbered and milled off the shores of Lake Namakagon. It may look like an exhibit in an historical park, but it’s got wireless internet access, public access computers and all the latest books and movies as well as a wide selection of popular magazines. Visitors are very welcome, and shouldn’t miss this local gem where the future resides in the past.

Wilderness Walk is a zoo/wildlife park with 300 plus wild, domestic, exotic animals and birds. Including a petting nursery, walking trails, Western Town with museums, maze, mystery house, panning for golf, arcade, playground, cafe, souvenier and gift shops.
We are open Mid May though Labor Day, 7 days a week, rain or shine. Ticket booth open from 10:00-4:30 wit the park closting at 5:30. Come and enjoy our animals! A wonderful experience for all ages! In Hayward 3 miles south on Highway 27.

A must for every visitor is the Cable Natural History Museum, with wildlife displays, including birds of prey, songbirds, mammasl and insects. The Museum has a regular summer lecture and field trip series. Many special workshops and outdoor programs offer natural history and science education for all ages. For more information and identification of trees, plants or wildlife, stop by the Museum and visit with a staff naturalist. Kids love this place!

Lake Owen Camp is a youth sports instructional camp offering gymnastics, cheer, skateboarding and BMX freestyle for all ages 1-17 years. Lake Owen Camp operates during the summer months only. During the American Birkebeiner weekend in February we provide a lodging/dining package.

Benoit Cheese is a retail store open to the public for the distribution of farm related commodities and supplies. Benoit Cheese is owned by the Benoit Reload and Livestock Corporation and is operated as a nonprofit business to promote quality Wisconsin produced goods. This store has been open with its current mission since early 1973 and has been a place where customers could come in for great service and great cheese. Today the store has been expanded to include many other items with a Wisconsin flavor including locally produced honey, maple syrup, Tetzner’s Milk, summer sausage, fresh brats, bacon, breakfast sausage, snack sticks, Usinger's sausage and meat products, along with other related dairy products.

We provide guided all-terrain vehicle (ATV) and snowmobile day tours through the back country trails of Sawyer, Bayfield and Ashland counties. Ride with us on our rugged all-terrain vehicles as we cruise through deep forest trails into the scenic wilderness of the northwoods. In the winter, escape on snowmobiles to witness the snow-covered wilderness, brilliant blue skies and hidden wonders. All trails run along lakes, rivers and streams, providing a backdrop of beautiful scenery and many opportunities to see wildlife.
Adventure Tours & Rentals "power sports ranch" is located 8 miles north of Hayward, WI and 7 miles south of Cable, WI. We are just off US Hwy 63. Our address is 13679W Thannum Fire Lane, Hayward, WI 54843. If you are familiar with the Sawyer & Bayfield County trail system...we are right off trails 8, 63, 31, and very close to trails 77 and 15. Needless to say, we're located at the epicenter of the NW Wisconsin trail system.
We rent ATVs and snowmobiles for use in our guided excursions throughout NW Wisconsin. Because of insurance regulations we do not rent machines without an accompanying trail guide. However there is no cost for the guide. Rates start as low as $175 per machine for half-day excursions. Gear, safety equipment and instruction is also available.
