The BRICK Ministries is a partnered effort between individuals, or organizations, businesses and its member churches, that share the mission and vision of compassionately helping people in need, serving residents of Ashland and Bayfield Counties. The BRICK offers a Food Shelf Program that distributes food and personal care items at its four locations: Ashland, the Cable Area Food Shelf, the South Shore Food Shelf- Cornucopia, and the Helping Hands Food Shelf – Mellen. The BRICK’s Benevolence program assists with emergency financial resources and provides referrals.

Fat Tire bicycle racing and fun events held the second weekend after Labor Day since 1983. Mass start point to point cross country races and fun events for adults and children. Registration is limited to 3,100 riders on a first come first served basis.

The Cable Community Farm is a nonprofit organization dedicated to growing food and building community. We have a Community Garden, where gardeners can rent a garden space for a season, the Growing Together Garden, where we grow food for the Cable Area Food Shelf, and a flower garden called Theater Flowers where we grow flowers for the Chequamegon Childrens Theater. We also have a Community Orchard, a Community Chicken Coop, and we house the Cable Community Seed Library. We collaborate with other organizations to provide educational opportunities year-round. We are open to the public every day from dawn to dusk.

Rumble on the Lake Ride to benefit local and national charities for people in need. Since the onset in 2013 Rumble on the Lake continues to showcase some of the best riding in Wisconsin and has become a recognized event across the state. We expect to see over 400 participants sharing their love of motorcycles, the northwoods while giving back to our community. Come join and help us reach our goal of $18,000. Chequamegon Area Mountain Bike Association (CAMBA) has developed and maintains a system of over 125 miles of purpose built singletrack trails and over 100 miles of mapped and marked off-road routes throughout Bayfield and northern Sawyer Counties with trail clusters based in Cable, Drummond, Namakagon, Delta, Seeley, Hayward, and Bayfield. CAMBA's mission is to support mountain bike advocacy, education, sustainable trail development and tourism in the Chequamegon Area in partnership with the U.S. Forest Service, local governments and agencies and private land owners. Over the past 25 years the CAMBA trails have become tremendously popular and generated significant regional and national attention and accolades. In 2014 the CAMBA trails were designated as an International Mountain Bicycling Association (IMBA) Ride Center.
