The purpose of CARE is to provide for those individuals in communities surrounding the Cable area who are struggling in times of crisis or emergency. Perhaps they need gas money, help with heating their home, warm clothing or boots, etc. Through the ministers of the four churches in the Cable area, those individuals requests and needs are screened and help from CARE is provided if appropriate. In addition to emergency requests, we offer a “school outreach” program to those students in need of a winter coat, boots,snowpants, mittens, hats, etc. Drummond School provides us with a list of needs, we buy the items and the school distributes to those in need. Our goal and mission is to make a positive difference in someone’s life during a very trying and stressful time.

Four of the lodge's 10 guest rooms are in the former classroom. The original floors remain, as do the chalkboards. Rooms include a main floor bedroom and bathroom, and a spiral staircase to a bed loft. All of the rooms contain two Queen size beds in them with one bed situated in the loft and the other on the main floor. Our rooms are perfect for extended stays allowing you plenty of space to relax with your friends in the living area. One room is specifically set up for wheelchair accessibility.
